Hey Friends and Family!
This weekend is a really exciting weekend for us... We have announced to our church family that our official moving date is October 1st. It's such a blessing to be told by so many people tonight that they love us, are praying for us, and support what we're doing. Truly, there is no substitution for the fellowship you can receive within the Body of Christ.
Everything is becoming so real to us... I remember when we first asked about putting a newsletter in the church bulletin about us moving to Ukraine and info about what we'll be doing while we're there... It seems like that was such a long time ago! I feel like we've been making packets, printing flyers, folding handouts, designing information boards, etc. for months now - all leading up to the big announcement this weekend.
It makes sense that everything is moving quickly now. For awhile there (Roughly January to May of this year, when we were waiting to hear from the Lord about Ukraine), time seemed frozen. Now, I feel like I can't catch my breath. We only have six weeks and a few days left here in the States, and there's still so much to be done.
Which brings us to prayer requests. There's so much going on right now, we'd really appreciate your prayers in these specific areas:
-Moving out of our apartment and in with Emily's parents on 8/25
-Still trying to sell our cars
-Becoming fully supported
-Emily will be attempting to order a year's supply of medicine for her diabetes this coming week, and we really need favor with her doctors, insurance company, and pharmacy
-Wisdom from the Lord as we get everything in order to move to Ukraine
-We still need visas
-Cheap airfare or employee companion passes for our flights to Ukraine
As we come before the Lord with prayer about our needs, we also want to praise God for what He's done recently:
-George and Sharon (CCTernopil's pastor and his wife) found us an apartment in Ternopil. We're really excited and praise God that He provided us with the funding to put a deposit down on the apartment.
-We're going to have a chance to visit Byron's grandparents in Kansas before we move
-Things went really well at our Missions' table tonight at church, and lots of people were interested in partnering with us financially and in prayer. Praise God!
-Emily's dad and brother were able to print out really high quality informational pamphlets for us to give out for free! What a blessing!
- We had the opportunity to meet with Pastor Dave Love from Calvary Castle Rock and share with him our passion for ministry in Ukraine. Next week we are meeting with a pastor from Horizon Littleton. And we also met with the pastor from Calvary Elizabeth. What a blessing it is to have so many church families supporting us and encouraging us!
God is so good... He just keeps proving Himself to be so sufficient, loving, and caring. What a good God we serve.
Thank you so much for your prayers! We appreciate them more than we can express...
God Bless,
Emily (and Byron too)
