Last blog post, I mentioned that we were going to spend this past week in Mukachevo with a missionary couple, praying over the city and seeking the Lord.
Well, this is Ukraine, and it snows a lot here. We've had two blizzards roll in over the last week and we had to postpone our trip. We were a little bummed out that we couldn't make it to Mukachevo, but the Lord knows best and He knows the reasons why we stayed in Ternopil. Since we weren't traveling this week, we had a little extra time to hang out with a few of our international students and pour into their lives. Emily and I also enjoyed a date day together getting coffee, going to the local water park (indoors of course), and eating out at a new found restaurant that we love! So, the Lord has really blessed us this week and it has been refreshing and encouraging.
The Lord has been revealing His will for us lately and we're excited about ministry opportunities that are on the horizon. It is amazing to see how the Lord is working in our lives as we are walking in obedience to Him.
I have been reading On Being a Servant of God by Warren Wiersbe, and I want to share something with you that has really encouraged me as we do ministry here in Ukraine. Talking about ministry and serving the Lord, Wiersbe says, "Our work is supposed to make us grow spiritually, we're always being measured (The Lord is the only one who truly measures our ministry and life), each job prepares us for the next one, and the Lord may move us when He sees that we're ready."
Wiersbe's thoughts have really encouraged me as we've been praying about what the Lord has for us in Ukraine and which ministries He wants us to continue with and/or pursue. We see ourselves growing in the Lord tremendously here and we feel like the Lord is about to do something awesome through in us and, Lord willing, through us. Emily and I are asking for you to continue to pray for us and pray for the work that the Lord is doing in Ukraine. Our desire is to see Ukrainian lives saved and changed by Jesus... and we are hoping God continues to allow us to be a part of things here!
God bless you guys!
Byron
