Hey everyone,
Sorry we haven't been posting on here very much lately... We've both been pretty sick over the last week, and we just didn't have the energy to do much...
Byron has strep throat right now, and I just got over some type of stomach bug (or maybe something I ate - who knows though!). We're hoping that by tomorrow, we'll be back to normal, but we're both still pretty tired, and Byron is really weak.
So, this blog will be short and sweet... I have a few praise reports for you guys, and also a few prayer requests.
Praise Reports
Tomorrow (3/13), we have an opportunity to visit a local school and teach an English class. If all goes well, we're hoping we'll be invited to the school again, and then try to invite some of the students to church. This opportunity popped up really quickly, so we haven't been able to think through all of the details on how to reach out to these students, but we're excited to have the chance to develop relationships with unsaved students and to be led by the Lord.
I (Emily) have been feeling a lot of stress about getting my diabetes medicine here in Ukraine. My mom tried to send me some medicine through the mail recently, but it took over 5 weeks to get here, which was much longer than we had expected, and so I ran out of medicine before the package got here. But, the praise report is, we have a friend here studying medicine at the local medical university (he's also Ukrainian and fluent in English), and he was able to help us find the medicine that I ran out of here in Ukraine. We also have some American missionary friends that are in Colorado right now, about to come back to Ukraine, and are able to bring me some of the supplies that I can't get by mail or get here in Ukraine. All of this to say, praise the Lord - He provides in amazing ways!
The last thing is that I have been exploring some health insurance options, but no affordable insurance companies take on type one diabetics. Praise the Lord again though, my insurance needs are no longer an issue, the Lord took care of everything, and the glory goes to God for His providence.
Prayer Needs
Byron and I just can't seem to get healthy, and it's really taking a toll on our moral. Especially for me... With Byron being sick right now, I feel really isolated and lonely. Please pray that I can trust God during this time and look to Him for the friendship that I need.
We have a couple big ministry decisions coming up, and we really don't know what to do. Please pray that the Lord will give us wisdom on how to proceed.
Also, please pray for us as we visit a school tomorrow. We're not really sure what to expect, but we hope the Lord opens many doors for us through this opportunity.
Thanks for all of your prayers and support! We really appreciate you all...
Blessings,
Emily
