A Day in the Life

For today's blog post, I thought I would share a little of what a day in the life in Kiev looks like for us. We live in a residential area of Kiev, maybe to the equivalent of suburbia in the States. For various ministry things, Russian lessons, and church, we are often traveling towards the center of Kiev, which takes close to 45 minuets to an hour. I thought it might be interesting for you to see what what we see everyday as we make our commute and live life in Ukraine.

Our metro station

This metro ride is empty compared to what we experience during rush hour
Underground walkway towards the metro - Fresh fruit in the summer!

It's not Ukraine without kolbasa

Lots of vendors

Our favorite bakery

Walking to the metro

Depending on what area of the city we are going on, sometimes we take the old school tram...

...Or sometimes we will take a Marshrutka
Walking through our neighborhood...

...and walking...

...And some more walking (it's a 27 minute walk to the metro station)

Children's play area (since we all live in apartments, this is like most people's "backyard")

This is where we come for clean water.
We bring 6 different 6 liter bottles here every couple weeks and
fill them with clean water for cooking and drinking.

Another playground/backyard

And, of course, the classic Lada :)

"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ" Colossians 3:23-24

Blessings,
Byron
