Gone for the weekend

Our Neighborhood
This past weekend Emily and I went to Kyiv for a few days to visit some old friends. We got to hang out with a few guys that I met the first time I came to Ukraine on a short-term trip back in 2005. These three guys (Dima, Vadym, and Igor) play in a rock band and they were playing a show that weekend. It was awesome to finally get to see them play live after all these years! It been cool staying friends with these guys for so long. Our group of friends began as just the four of us, but over the years, the group has grown to include Emily, Marina, and Valery. It was a great time just hanging out and catching up.

We got to see another really good friend, Luba. Emily and Luba met a couple years ago and have been able to stay close over the years. Luba took us to a "hat party" that a local group was putting on. We got to meet up with many of the people there that we've gotten to know over the years, and it was really cool to see how many of our old friends are making choices to follow the Lord.

We were also blessed to stay with a missionary couple from the States that we have know for years. It was such a blessing to just talk and encourage each other with stories about adaptation to the culture.
Grey Skies

We had such a good weekend in Kyiv. But while we were away we realized that Ternopil has become our home. Our Apartment now feels like a home. The people and church are beginning to feel like family. We are passionate about the ministry we're doing in Ternopil. When we were in Kyiv we simply missed Ternopil and couldn't wait to get back. The Lord has really blessed us as we now really feel at home here... and we love it!

I've shared a few photos of our city. Hope you enjoy them!
