Blessings from a House Visit

During our time here in Uganda, we've met so many children. A lot of the ministry we've been involved with is kids' ministry, including teaching at the Calvary school, local school outreaches, and kids club outreaches. With all the kids we've met, I've grown to really love two little girls that go to the Calvary school. They are eight year old twins, named Claire and Catherine.

Claire and Catherine's mom is employed at the church for janitorial work. So, even over the last two months, the school has been on break, these two girls are at the church daily, because they always come with their mom to work, resulting in us getting to see them almost everyday!

Everyday we arrive at the church, they come running to hug us and greet us. They are very soft spoken girls, with big smiles. I've never met sisters, let alone twins, who get along so well with each other. Always playing with each other pleasantly or helping their mom with her work at the church. These girls just melt my heart everytime I see them.

This past week, their mom invited us over for tea and lunch at their home. I was so excited to have the opportunity to be guests in their house. One of my favorite aspects of missions is having the chance to meet people in their homes. It's really awesome to see how people live and it seems to bring friendships to a closer level. Claire and Catherine were so proud to show us their home and their neighborhood. They even helped their mom cook us lunch (posho and beans, a traditional Ugandian meal).

I know that this is a quick post, but I just wanted you to have a brief look into some of the lives of the people we are getting to know here. Please be praying for Clarie and Catherine, as well as their mother and younger brother. Pray for the Lord to continue to give the mother strength as she provides and cares for these sweet girls. Pray that Jesus continues to be the center of thier home.

Blessings,
Byron
