Beautiful Lviv

We're excited to say, we're writing this post from Lviv! After a very busy holiday season (with a total of 2 Christmas parties and 1 New Year's party at our place), we're taking it easy for a couple days on a much needed getaway. We arrived in Lviv yesterday (It's only a 2 hour train ride from Ternopil) and spent the whole day taking pictures and walking. We found a really cool coffee shop, made the classic McDonald's stop, and finished the night with dinner at a Tex Mex restaurant (glorious Mexican food - a taste we desperately miss!).

Although Christmas is over, we've also been able to enjoy all of the Christmas and New Year's decorations that are still up in Lviv. The Christmas lights are beautiful and there are actors throughout the city dramatizing the Nativity Scene - usually with live animals! Of course, everything is in Ukrainian, but we're familiar enough with the story to understand the gist of it all :)

We are really blessed to be staying with the brother and wife of a good friend of ours from our church. If we had to stay in a hostel, we might not have been able to come to Lviv, so we're really thankful for the generosity of the people we're staying with right now.

For whatever reason, Lviv is significant for us when it comes to ministry decisions. Last summer, we went to Lviv for four days to seek the Lord and see where He wanted us to move to in Ukraine. He spoke to us clearly, saying that we needed to move to Ternopil, and thus, we now live in Ternopil. During our time here this trip, we're seeking the Lord for new vision and direction. We really feel called to work with orphans, but at this point, haven't had much success in finding ministry opportunities in orphanages. We're praying that the Lord will, once again, meet us here in Lviv and show us what to do next.

As we wait on the Lord, we pray that you are also waiting on the Lord in this New Year. Our prayer is that He will guide and direct you in whatever He's calling you to do with this next year.

Blessings,

Emily
